Job Title: EMC Modeling Engineer
Job Summary:
Currently seeking a talented Power Electronics/RF Engineer/Semiconductor characterization Engineer to join the Semiconductor Device Modeling Team in a rapidly growing computational software startup. This position will require technical expertise in developing hardware which represents use-cases in Semiconductor, Tier-1, or OEM-level companies. Role also involves taking hardware to EMI/EMC Compliance chamber and characterize hardware parameters using lab instruments.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Understanding Schematics and Layout Designs
- Work with vendors to get test PCB manufactured and assembled, Powering up and setting up basic functionality of hardware
- Conducting measurements for hardware in EMI/EMC chamber (RE, CE, CI, RI)
- Characterize power devices, SoC parameters using oscilloscope, VNA, spectrum analyzer by setting up measurement experiments; Scripting to control lab instruments.
- Scripting knowledge and mathematical background to fit patterns from hardware collected data.
- Setup circuit or EM simulations for correlation with measurements.
- Demonstrate an enthusiastic and proactive approach to contribute to software feature development based on knowledge gained from measurement experiments
Required Skills
- Good Understanding of the semiconductor devices
- Proficiency in Circuit Simulators like Spice
- Experience with layout tools like KiCad, Altium etc.
- Experience with Matlab or Python scripting
- Knowledge and detailed Understanding of the measurement equipment like Spectrum Analyzer, Oscilloscopes, Network analyzers, etc.
- Familiarity with EMI/EMC lab measurement standards like CISPR25 (RE, CE), ISO-11452 (RI, CI)
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with distributed team members and various stakeholders
Relevant Education + Experience:
- M.Tech Plus Min 2 Yr Experience
- Power Electronics or Circuit or Physics or RF Industry Background
